What’s your favorite thing to cook?
My favorite thing to cook (bake) is sourdough bread. I love the whole process, from maintaining the starter, kneading and folding, shaping, proofing, and finally the baking. Each step is special and carried out correctly, has its reward. The sourdough starter has to be bubbly, full of that lovely carbon monoxide gas, to give the bread rise. Kneading and folding, forces the gluten strands to align resulting in an elastic, smooth dough. Shaping further strengthens the dough, as does the over-night proofing in the fridge. Then, the pay-off, that mouth watering aroma of freshly baked bread! There’s nothing else that compares😋.
