Describe your most memorable vacation.
A vacation from childhood comes to mind. My dad’s brothers loved to fish, so fishing trips were quite frequent. One involved a group of siblings (4 brothers), one aunt, and 4 kids (all girls, myself included). We headed to Lajitas, which is in west Texas, going through parts of Big Bend. It was a late spring trip, which in Texas means hot days, with a chance of cold weather. We camped on a grassy river bank, not far from Lajitas, and the adults fished all day. That night a cold front swept through. The temp plunged, the wind gusted, and by morning everyone, except one uncle, was sandwiched into the tent. We spent a big part of the day drowsing, talking, cuddled up together. The brothers shared tales from their childhood, and we laughed a lot. The front moved through, and by afternoon it was hot enough to take a dip in the river. It was a short, weekend trip, just enjoying nature, and family.
